The Indiana AFL-CIO Convention was held on December 3rd and 4th in Indianapolis.

The 25th Constitutional Convention had in attendance many guest speakers including United Mineworkers member, Russ Stillwell - The Indiana House Majority Leader and a great friend of Labor!

Indiana Labor Committee Chair, State Representative David Nedgodski, is an UA member and contractor.

Senate Minority Leader, Richard Young, spoke about the importance of gaining additional Labor friends in the Senate.

Candidates for Indiana Governor also spoke to the delegates.

Congressmen Brad Ellsworth, Baron Hill, Joe Donnelly, and Evan Bayh each sent in videos, due to Congress being in session, and spoke about the the issues important to Labor.
Additionally, Resolutions were passed that included a call for national health care, support for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, support for strengthening the Common Construction Wage, Opposition to Paycheck "Deception" Deduction legislation, and support for bargaining rights for public sector workers.
Finally, workshops were held discussing the upcoming election, a great program that offers scholarships to children of parents killed or injured on the job - Kid's Chance - and a new organization that is reaching out to the non-union: Working America .
